Interventional
Neuroradiology
Recent
advances in technology, particularly with intravascular catheters and
stents, has created opportunities for making very specific interventions
by access through the arterial blood vessels. Embolization of tumors (to
cut off their blood supply), management of inoperable aneurysms, and,
more recently, possibilities for stroke prevention by special stent placements
are very exciting advances employed by our physicians.
