ADVANCED CLINICAL TRAINING

The Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group (ING) offers advanced clinical training in several areas. ING is one of the largest private neurosurgery groups in the USA and our physicians have developed subspecialty expertise. Fellows will have exposure to a very high clinical volume, research opportunities, educational conferences, and a cadaveric and microanastomosis laboratory. State of the art neurosurgical equipment is available.

Vascular/Endovascular – Three ING vascular neurosurgeons and two ING endovascular neuroradiologists treat over 250 patients per year with aneurysms and AVMs as well as patients with other cerebrovascular disease. Training can be customized to include surgical, endovascular, or a combined experience. Length: 1 to 2 years.

Spine – Five ING neurosurgeons devote their practice to spine. All types of spine procedures including complex, minimally invasive, tumors, artificial disc replacement, degenerative disease, trauma, kyphoplasty and pain management are included. There is also exposure to spine and brain disorders in amateur and professional athletes.
Length: 1 year.

Skull Base Surgery – ING treats a large volume of benign and malignant skull base tumors, both adult and pediatric. Skull base approaches to vascular lesions are also included. There is exposure to radiosurgery with Novalis, Cyberknife, Gamma Knife and proton beam therapy. Endoscopic neurosurgery can be incorporated into this fellowship. A skull base dissection lab is available. Length: 1 year.

Trauma – ING covers a level 1 trauma center in a hospital with over 95,000 emergency room visits per year. The neurosurgery ICU has 25 beds. Surgical and non-surgical management of brain and spine injuries is included.
